What is a Headache Location Chart?

A is a visual tool that shows diagrams of a person with colored areas of the head that indicate pain. Each diagram represents a different type of headache based on the pain’s location, labeled accordingly. Though commonly used by clients, medical practitioners may also use our take of a headache location chart as a visual aid or a document where they can write down any findings or observations on the patient.

Just so you have an idea of the headaches we featured on our template, we’ve provided a list below:

Do note that we’ve only included the common types of headaches one may have and that if your patient’s description doesn’t fit any of the provided ones, you must consider other types.

How to use the Headache Location Chart:

Step One. Access and Download the Template

To access and download a digital and printable copy of the “Headache Location Chart” template, you can do either of the following:

Step Two. Interview the Patient

At this point, it’s best to interview the patient and have them describe their pain. If it helps, you may show them the template so they may point to the diagram that best matches their description.

Step Three. Fill Out the Template

While conducting the interview or immediately after, you can fill out the template with important information such as their headache type - whether or not it’s present on the diagram—and any additional descriptive information the patient provides, observations, and findings. 

Step Four. Securely Store the Template 

Before proceeding to the following steps, remember to store the template in a secure physical location or on Carepatron for easy access to relevant parties.
