What AICD ICD-10 Codes Can I Use?
If you’re looking for AICD ICD codes, please note that there are no ICD-10 codes that mention AICD in their names. That doesn’t mean there aren’t any, though!
What you need to do is to spell out the whole term to Automatic Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator. You should be able to pull up the lone ICD-10 code for AICD, Z95.810 - Presence of automatic (implantable) cardiac defibrillator.
This ICD-10 code is meant to be used on a patient confirmed to have an AICD in their chest. Please note that this ICD-10 code is unacceptable as a principal diagnosis because it does not diagnose a person with anything. It’s meant to indicate that the patient has an AICD.
You can use this after attaching the AICD to the person. It can also be used if they’ve had it for a while, and it’s something of note when examining them.
