As with any injection, this will cause pain and discomfort in the injection site. It's possible for an injection site infection, and for the inflammation to flare up a bit (temporary). Rare complications include nerve damage, tendon ruptures, skin discoloration in the injection site, and (severe) allergic reactions. It's best to monitor the patient after injecting the drug.
